Austin's APA Community
Austin is a growing city with a thriving food scene, anchored by Whole Foods, driven by an innovative, entrepreneurial environment, and supported by a community that loves locally sourced, healthy food outlets created by a renegade wave of talented chefs.
Central Texas is also home to about 135,000 Asian Pacific Americans (APAs) which is almost 9% of residents. We are the fastest growing demographic, doubling about every 11 years compared to every 20 years for the general population.
There is huge diversity within the label APA. In Austin, the Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese are the largest groups, but there are also Korean, Filipino and Pakistani populations, emerging refugee immigrants from Nepal and Burma, and many more.
Asian restaurants have grown from a mere handful to hundreds of options. National Asian grocery chains landed here in 2018.
This website serves the Asian restaurants who are members of the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce. It is our service to them, providing an online presence to those mom and pop shops who have great authentic food.
We hope you enjoy this site and give the restaurants listed a try!
